Information on the New Historic Downtown District
The Stoughton city council has approved a proposal to establish a local historic downtown district along Main Street from the river to seventh street. This designation makes resources available to local downtown businesses for exterior repairs and improvements. It also helps to preserve the historic character of Stoughton's downtown and protect the investments of downtown building owners. Wilhelm H. Linderud Photo Collection
The Wilhelm H. Linderud Collection consists of about 200 photos of Stoughton and the surrounding area taken by Mr. Linderud between about 1894 and 1912. The Stoughton Landmarks Commission is gathering information on these photos.
